Frank Viele opens for Lee DeWyze

The show began at 7:30 pm with Frank opening for Lee. According to the FaceBook page for Mr. Viele, "He is at home on the stage with nothing but a stool, glass of bourbon, and an acoustic guitar, or side by side with his power house band.

First Three Media wholeheartedly agrees to the above statement! Listening and watching Frank perform stripped down, without a band accompaniment tells this photographer that he can bring the music completely on his own.

Frank has found himself on stage with modern singer/songwriters such as Pat McGee, Ryan Montbleau, Gavin Degraw and Tony Lucca, jam and rock oriented bands including Blues Traveler, Eric Lindell, Turkuaz, The London Souls and Zach Myers of Shinedown as well as classic rock legends including The Marshal Tucker Band, Foreigner, Ambrosia, Bret Michaels and Bob Marley's Wailers.

Frank: "It's an honor being here on tour with my dear friend Lee. I sprained my thumbs back in the day voting for him. When I got the chance to open for him, it took me five or six shows to get the jitters out. Once in a while they come back. He is a great guy and has been a dear friend of mine ever sense. It's an honor to have my first West Coast tour starting today opening for him. That's cool! I have also toured with a band named Shinedown. I had the distinct honor of touring with Zach Myers this year as well. One of those tours had me playing and flying out to Wisconsin from Connecticut for a concert. I had a layover in Chicago. I'll talk to you about that layover a bit later. Long story short, I found my set was a little longer than planned and I premiered a brand new song that night in Wisconsin. It went over pretty well. I started playing it at every show on that tour. By the time I ended up at The House Of Blues, the crowd was singing it back to me. People were posting videos to Instagram. This song is going to be on my new record coming out next year as well. It's a song called Honey. I hope you all dig it!"

Frank: "I think today is my first ever concert on the West Coast. I flew in today and I just pounded a Red Bull. It is like midnight where I am. I used to play clubs until one or two o'clock in the morning. My current record won New England's Album Of The Year. It brought me from playing corners in bars to stages all over the country. The first single off my new album came out on Friday. It has already gotten more downloads than anything I ever thought I would do. It's a song called, "Till The Bourbon's All Gone."
Frank: "So I got stranded at the Chicago airport on the way to Wisconsin and they were moving us from terminal to terminal all around and finally the flight captain looked at me and everyone was all ticked off and he says, "Hey man...you got a guitar. How about you sing everyone a song?" I said, "Here at the airport?" He said, "Yeah." I said, "Brother, I don't talk until at least noon. It's 9:30 in the morning. Then I realized that he was going to be flying the plane that I was going to be on at some point so I probably should oblige.

(The audience was following along listening and laughing with the great story.)

Frank: "I said, why are we delayed? He said, "We are delayed because of the wind. We call it wind delays. The plane cannot go against the wind." "I thought to myself, what song do I know about wind delays? I played this next song and a couple hundred people at the Chicago airport gathered around me as I played it. By the time I got off that flight, the video box me playing that song was on the internet and over fifty thousand people had viewed it. My momma called me and she said, "Frank, if you're gonna be on tv how come you weren't wearing a clean sweatshirt and how come you didn't shave? My momma thinks youtube is tv. Long story short, I played this song. Any Bob Seger fans out there on the West Coast? This is Against The Wind."

Throughly enjoyed Frank Viele and expect great things to come his way! His music definitely leaves an imprint on this soul.
