Optimiztiq - CD Release Party - Placerville, Ca.

It was another packed night at Pj's Roadhouse in Placerville, California on Thursday April 19th! 

This time, the crowd was there to support the recent album released by Mr. McDonald. 

Honestly, was never a fan of rap / hip hop until I attended an Optimiztiq show last year at Pj's. When Alex took the stage with other local artists, thought; "This is one rap artist I don't want to turn off!"  Listen to his music. Absorb his lyrics. His positivity and personal message IS music  you WILL want on repeat!

Alex McDonald (born October 24, 1990), better known by his stage name Optimiztiq (pronounced optimistic), is an American rapper, record producer, and song writer from Placerville, CA. He is best known for his fast rap, quirky analogies and positive approach on music. Writing lyrics became his outlet, after his father passed away, in 2005. He released his first record in 2007 and has released one record per year since. He graduated with honors from Pinnacle Collage with a degree in sound engineering and audio mastering in 2010. He founded his own independent record label “Chakra Sound” in 2013.

Optimiztiq has shared the stage with many well established headliners such as Tech N9ne, Snoop Dogg and Too $hort to name a few. After opening for Snoop Dogg, Sacramento Press wrote “Y’all keep an eye out for this one right here. He’s a white MC from the country kickin’ butt”. Optimiztiq began to gain a buzz in 2013 from his album “Mouthin’ Off”, a record made only with his mouth. In 2014 he followed up with his 6th album “Flashback”, a themed record which samples old classic hits in the foundation of each song. Optimiztiq has been raising eyebrows in the underground music scene with these recent innovative projects. Kurupt, former vice president of Death Row Records says “Optimiztiq is a sleeper”.
